Introduction
The DSS (Door Step Services) application is used by Departmental Postman and GDS Delivery Staff on BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) Android phones to perform departmental operations. This SOP guides you through the installation process. π¦
Pre-requisites
- π± Android device (Android 11 or higher)
- π SFTP client (e.g., FileZilla, WinSCP, PowerFTP, AndFTP)
- π SFTP credentials (host, port, username, password/private key)
- π Latest DSS APK file (available in SFTP folder)
Procedure
Step 1: Connect to SFTP Server
- Launch your SFTP client.
- Enter details: Protocol:
SFTP
, Username:zdop_dssapp
, Password:Apt2Dss@2025
, Host:103.244.127.239
, Port:22
. - Authenticate & connect. π
Step 2: Download the APK
- Download APK from the SFTP folder to your Android device or PC. Click Here to Download
Step 3: Transfer APK to Mobile (if on PC)
- π² Transfer via WhatsApp Desktop/Web, then download from WhatsApp Documents folder.
- π Transfer via USB: Enable File Transfer (MTP) and copy to Downloads folder.
- π‘ Transfer via Bluetooth or ShareMe.
Step 4: Enable Unknown Sources
- Go to Settings β Apps & notifications β Special app access β Install unknown apps.
- Select the app (e.g., File Manager/Browser) and toggle βAllow from this sourceβ.
Step 5: Install the APK
- Locate the APK in your file manager.
- Tap the file and follow on-screen prompts. β
Step 6: Post-installation Check
- Launch the DSS app and login using your DoP Employee ID & password.
- Check the availability of the Delivery module and verify Android 11+ compatibility.
- Report any errors or crashes via Support Desk Tickets. π‘
Troubleshooting
